A Great Evening At The Poets Corner….

Last Saturday’s gig at the Poets Corner went down well, and we will be back there in September. Dave was on fine form, with his usual repertoire of off the wall intros!

Rob’s sister Louise kindly took some photos, and some will be on here soon (below is one she took on the night). We were also pleased to have Rob’s uncle John Allen in the audience  – John was the lead guitarist with The Nashville Teens in the 60’s who had top ten hits with “Tobacco Road” and “Google Eye”. It was great to talk to him about his experiences at the sharp end of rock’n’roll.  He retired from performing a while ago and now spends his time making guitars. He and Dave were well away discussing guitars and strings and pick-ups and everything else guitar. He’s a thoroughly nice bloke and it was a real treat to meet him.

Next gig is The Oddfellows Arms on June 6th –  a local gig for me so it should be a belter. Don’t miss it – as usual see the gig guide for details!

John had a great time Phil, liked the set list and the occasional beer. he did say that it reminded him of the Teens gigs before Tobacco Road was released,
He has asked me to send his regards to you Dave & Chris and thoroughly enjoyed talking all things music with you all and wishes the band well for the future.
James and I also enjoyed the night some new songs that we have not heard before,
all seems to be going well. Onward to the next one.
