Phil Clark – Bass

Phil took up playing bass in his late forties, having always heard the bass line stand out in any song he listened to and thought “I’d love to do that!” He went out and bought a bass, had some rudimentary lessons and then stumbled across the fantastic Dave Barnard at a bass players day in Hove (without whom…etc). He joined his first gigging band (a blues band of course) 18 months later and has never looked back. Many gigs and a few bands later, all either blues or blues based, he joined Railroad  in May 2013.

Phil plays either a 2001 Fender Hot-Rod Precision Bass or a 1979 Fender Jazz Bass, through an Ampeg “Rocket”  bass combo or Markbass Little Mark 3 and Barefaced Compact cab.
